Introduction
The good news is that Heaven does exist!
Heaven looks like a really wonderful place, far more beautiful and joyful than your wildest imaginations can grasp.
If you do get the honor of residing there, be ready for a life of endless happiness, joy, and love.
You will experience no pains, nor sufferings, and neither endless miseries that we have all gotten accustomed to here on Earth.
And yes, there are streets of pure gold, walls adorned with precious crystals, and amazing views in every direction, which beat everything we are acquainted with here in our world!
Heaven is an incredible place and given the choice almost no one would decline the offer of living there.
Although most religions offer similar sensory perceptions on Heaven, the Bible provides us with a unique perspective on this elusive paradise of God.
While God has not handed over a detailed blueprint or floor plan of Heaven, He has given us enough information to appreciate that it is a place where we all really need to be.
Let us read some of the important truths that the Bible teaches us about this beautiful place called Heaven and what it looks like:
1. Heaven is the place where God lives and rules from.

34 But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God’s throne:
Matthew 5:34
49Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?
Acts 7:49
19The Lord hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.
Psalm 103:19
Heaven is God’s house. This is where He lives!
Just as every country has a capital city, God too has a capital city called Heaven. When the Bible says that God’s throne is in Heaven, it means it’s the place from where He governs and rules.
Usually, capital cities are grand, big, well planned, hold primary status and the seat of Government. They are model cities of a country and usually the best cities of a nation.
They generally look magnificent, and Heaven is no different.
Even though the Earth is not God’s capital city yet, He made our planet so beautiful. Imagine how wonderful and awesome Heaven must look.
No earthly language has words to describe it nor do our thoughts have the capability to even think about the things that exist in Heaven.
2. Angels who look beautiful also live in Heaven with God to serve Him.
No, God does not live alone in Heaven. It is obvious from the Bible that God is the King of Heaven. It logically follows that God’s kingdom should have subjects who are residents of Heaven who work for God.
The host of Heaven, which are mentioned in 2 Chronicles 18:18, are the angels, which are supernatural and intelligent beings that God created.
18I saw the LORD sitting on His throne, and all the host of heaven standing on His right hand and His left”
2 Chronicles 18:18
Billions and billions of angels live in Heaven and are there to serve and worship God.
11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;
Revelation 5:11
3. There are others beings in Heaven besides the angels.
4 And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.
Revelation 4:4
The book of Revelation reveals marvelous scenes of Heaven, including God’s throne room where beings called the elders are seated around the throne of God to serve and praise Him.

4. Special group of angels keep praising God.
8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
9 And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever,
Revelation 4:8-11
These special angels are one of the highest order of Angels that serve closest to God’s throne. The prophet Isaiah called these groups of angels “Seraphims.” This word is derived from the Hebrew language and means “the burning ones.” They glow with incredible light (hence the name seraphim) and are ignited with a burning passion for worshiping God with ceaseless energy and continually praising God.
5. No atheists in Heaven.
11And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God.
Revelation 7:11
The Bible doesn’t say some angels or most of the angels, but rather all the angels worship God.
This is incredible because most people don’t even believe in God or worship Him here on Earth. This is what makes Heaven look different from the Earth in that there are no atheists in Heaven.
All the Heavenly residents willingly worship God with their whole hearts and minds. They are completely dedicated to God and live to serve Him. No one questions God’s authority because they all know and understand that He knows what’s best for them because He is all-knowing!
6. Heavenly Angels who look beautiful sing songs and play music to praise God.
The book of Revelation depicts a truly awesome scene, showing innumerable angels around God’s throne adoring Him and singing holy songs in honor of God and appreciating His Holiness and Righteousness. They stand in awe of God and readily do His will dedicating their lives to His service.

8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.
9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
Revelation 5:8-9
7. Heaven looks like a place where there is always love and joy because its founded on Gods law of love.

One thing that sets Heaven apart from Earthly nations and kingdoms is the unimaginable love that each angel has for God and other angels. There is tremendous peace, harmony, and joy in every heart. This is only possible because the heavenly realm is founded on God’s perfect law of love.
The angels are motivated with unselfish love and constantly strive to help one another. There are no arguments, altercations, or jealousy in Heaven. The atmosphere is so pure that we humans will find it really difficult to adapt or appreciate it in our current fallen nature.
Jesus Himself declared in Mark 12:30-31 that God’s kingdom is based on the 2 fundamental laws of Love:
- Love for God.
- Love for your neighbor.
30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
Mark 12:30-31
According to Psalm 103:20-21, the mighty angels in Heaven follow God’s commandments, and this is the source of their peace and happiness. Serving God is not a burden for them because they love to obey and serve Him.
God’s law of love is the foundation of the divine government. Living in perfect accord to it guarantees the well-being of every Heavenly creature.
21 Bless ye the Lord, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure. Psalm 103:20-21 Many mistakingly believe that true happiness comes from wealth, lavish lifestyles, and the comforts and conveniences offered by our modern world. But they couldn’t be more wrong. We can only gain true happiness by seeking and worshiping God. God grants Heaven to every individual because it is infinitely better than what this world can ever offer, and we will eventually live in perfect happiness when we live in the presence of God in His beautiful Heaven. Human language cannot describe Heaven fully and what it looks like because our Earthy words and experience cannot fathom the beauty of Heaven in its full glory. God offers us glimpses of what Heaven looks like to let us know that He has prepared for us something infinitely more beautiful than we could ever ask for. This is the reason why Paul mentioned in 1 Corinthians 2:9 that Heaven is beyond human imagination. Even the most beautiful scene, feeling, and happiness that we have ever experienced or can imagine is nothing compared to what we can experience in Heaven. All I can say is that it is a truly awesome place, and each one of us should make it our goal to get there! 9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 1 Corinthians 2:9 19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail. Revelation 11:19 This may come as a surprise to many that there is a real physical temple in Heaven, and God lives in it! The temple was first mentioned in the Bible when God asked Moses to make one so that God could physically come and live in it. 8 And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them. Exodus 25:8 The temple sanctuary that God asked Moses to make was a replica of the one which was already in Heaven. The Bible calls the Heavenly temple the true tabernacle. 5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount. Hebrews 8:5 2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man. Hebrews 8:2 In John 8:23, Jesus unequivocally confirmed that He is from Heaven. This clearly establishes the fact that He has a Divine origin. 23 And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world. John 8:23 The Bible informs us that no one dies in Heaven! Nor does anyone fall ill or suffer from any pain. No wonder people, irrespective of religious belief, are attracted to Heaven. But God promised in Revelation 21:4 that Heaven is indeed real and an incredible place, and God Himself will wipe our tears and pain that we suffer in this life. 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away Revelation 21:4 Even wild animals such as lions and wolves will not kill and eat other animals in Heaven but instead will be vegetarians! 25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, the lion shall eat straw like the ox, and dust [shall be] the serpent’s food. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, says the LORD Isaiah 65:25 If there is one point that you should take away from this article, it is this: God loves you, He cares for you, and He wants you to be in Heaven and enjoy eternal and joyful life in His house! You dont need to take my word for it, He said this in the Bible: 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:3-4 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9 Jesus loves us so much that He spends all of His time to ensure that we can look at Heaven some day with our own eyes! He also cares about our comfort and wants to ensure that we have the best possible experience in Heaven. He wants us to feel at home in Heaven, and this is the reason why he is preparing places for us to reside there right in God’s house! 2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. John 14:2-3 A point to note is that the word for mansions is translated from the Greek word monÄ“ (μονή), which means dwelling place or residence. That is what the word mansion used to mean in Old English. Of course, we will live in the most amazing houses in Heaven, which will look so incredible that we cannot even imagine them now. However, don’t get the wrong picture of some human-created materialistic and hedonistic lifestyle. This is a crucial point to consider. We do not go to Heaven or Hell at death. The Bible makes it obvious that the judgment is a future end-time event. So it logically follows that God will give rewards or punishments after every person has been judged. Judgment is a future end time event: 7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. 2 Peter 3:7 Jesus rewards/punishes us at the end of the world: 12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. Revelation 22:12 In Revelation 22:12, Jesus clearly said that he would give each person their reward at His second coming. Besides eternal life, the biggest reward that Jesus’s followers get is to live with God in Heaven. Jesus takes us to Heaven after He comes the second time: 2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. John 14:2-3 Notice in verse 3, Jesus plainly stated that we get to live in the Father’s house (Heaven) after Jesus comes back to take us there. Obviously, Jesus has not yet returned. Therefore dead people are not in Heaven right now. The people who claim that we are rewarded and go to Heaven straight after death directly contradict His plain teachings on this subject. They wrongly misinterpret some verses of the Bible and conclude that we have immortal souls who remain conscious after death and go to Heaven or Hell. To gain the correct Biblical understanding of these verses and their right contexts, please have a read through the following articles: We humans have physical bodies which because of sin, have become degenerated and weak. The day of resurrection will truly be an incredible sight when the children of God rise with eternal youth and no signs of aging or disease! 20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: 21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself. Philippians 3:20-21 50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 1 Corinthians 15:50,53-54 We have just read so many fascinating points on what Heaven looks like. I am sure that you must be really eager to go there. So how do you get there? Expensive and luxurious places in our world require a certain standard of life, huge sums of money to get in, or powerful connections to get. The good news is, Heaven the capital city of God, does not look at our earthly success to determine if we can visit. That’s it, once you believe all this with faith and live your life in accordance to His Word – The Bible, God forgives all your sins and grants you the honor and privilege to live with Him in Heaven! 12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 7:21 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. Acts 16:31 Don’t allow the distractions and temptations created by the Devil to keep you out of Heaven. He can’t force you to reject Heaven, but He can make Heaven look like an unappealing place by luring you with his fake worldly pleasures. Remember, the only one who can keep you out of Heaven is you! So make the right choice and accept Jesus as your Saviour today, and be assured that you will walk in the Paradise of God one day.
20 Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.
8. Heaven looks like a beautiful place that is unimaginable.
They only need to check with wealthy and successful people of our society. They will soon discover that they, too, are plagued with similar miseries, anxieties, and unhappiness as the rest of the world.
9. God has a temple in Heaven.
10. Jesus is from Heaven.
Many people wrongly think that Jesus was just a good human who lived a holy life. Others think that He was only a prophet. They form an incorrect opinion because Jesus unequivocally claimed that He is God.
You can read all about it in the following article:
11. There is no pain nor suffering neither death in Heaven.
We humans are so accustomed to pain, suffering, and death that a life without these is unimaginable. Many don’t believe in Heaven because they can’t imagine a place where there is no death. After all, it seems so unnatural.
12. God wants you in Heaven.
God doesn’t want a single person to be lost, and He is doing everything possible to win our hearts and minds to lead us into a saving relationship with Him.
13. Jesus is preparing a place for us in Heaven right now.
Most people think that Jesus is preparing large, expensive villas or multi-story flats for us in Heaven since the word mansion has taken on a new meaning in our Modern English.
14. We don’t go to Heaven immediately after death but after Jesus comes back at the end of time
We go to Heaven after the judgment, which happens at the end of time.
15. We will be given special bodies so we can live in Heaven.
The bodies that we possess are not fit to live eternally. That is why God will give us
new eternal bodies after the resurrection so we can live forever in Heaven. Our new bodies will not deteriorate or have imperfections. Instead, they will be perfect and have a natural glow, and look incredibly beautiful.
16. The only way you can go to Heaven is if you believe in Jesus and obey His Word.
It doesn’t matter if you are rich or poor, educated or uneducated, ugly or beautiful. God is giving every person a free opportunity to live with Him.
All we need to do is accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour. We need to believe that Jesus died for our sins and rose again and went back to Heaven. We need to confess our sins and humble ourselves before God and pray to Him to transform our lives to live to do His will. Conclusion
