If you think that the dead can hear us when we talk to them or are attempting to summon them, then you have to read this urgently!
You lost a loved one and perhaps feeling desperate to make contact to ease your grief and pain. The death of a loved one brings emotions of hopelessness, sadness, and vulnerability. If the thought of your departed loved one keeps you awake at night, then you are not alone.
Death is an uncomfortable topic, and many cannot deal with the emotional toll it brings. We are social beings and inevitably develop deep relationships with our families and friends. Death brings a hard break to those bonds, leaving us with nothing but memories.
The constant thought of the deceased brings negative thoughts, stress, shock, and disbelief. These are natural feelings that we all experience at the loss of a relative or a friend because we know that we can no longer continue the relationship. It is not easy to accept that the person we loved so much has passed away, and this grieving process can take a toll on the body.
During this time of mourning make sure to rely on God to help you get through it. He is the only one who can help you deal with your anxiety and pain. He knows exactly what you are going through. Take your baggage and give it to the Lord Jesus as he will never let you down. He will give you peace that this world cannot give. You will find comfort in His arms.
The Afterlife – A Popular Concept
Unfortunately, instead of seeking solace in God, many people seek counsel and guidance from mediums and necromancers in the misguided hope that they could somehow communicate with the deceased. This attraction towards spiritualism is not surprising because many today believe in the immortality of the soul and conscious existence in the afterlife.
For instance, a poll conducted in the USA by The General Social Survey in 2014 found that 80% of Americans believed in an afterlife. Similar results have been noted in other countries as well.
The idea that the soul survives death and enters into a continued life in a spiritual dimension commands universal appeal, permeating most cultures and religions.
The concept of the hereafter is not a modern invention as it was quite common among all the major ancient societies such as the Egyptians, Babylonians, The Greeks, etc. We find these ideas even among the remotest of tribes that have never interacted with other cultures.
So Why Is The Belief In The Afterlife So Popular?
An important reason for its popularity is the number of near-death experiences involving otherworldly concepts such as visitation from spiritual beings, tunnels of light, feeling immense love, peace and joy, hearing and talking to dead people, etc.
Also, constant exposure to witchcraft, necromancy, spirit mediums, and the hereafter through movies, advertisements, books, and even cartoons has led ordinary people to accept activities that were once considered dangerous and occultic without any inhibitions.
The popularity of Psychics and Mediums and the ease with which anyone can obtain their services have allowed people to experience the spirit world.
Sorcery and Mediumship are a highly profitable business with a growing demand for their expertise. People can now access a medium or even get a DIY initiation into witchcraft and the occult just by a few clicks online.
The internet is rife with articles on how to hear and talk to the dead. Most of these articles provide dangerous advice and false information because they are knowingly or unknowingly tricking people into communication with evil spirits.
There is a worrying trend of people exposing themselves to subjects such as near-death experiences, paranormal activities, and necromancy as a way to release stress and find comfort.
Modern witches are teaching people ways to reach out to the dead spirits of their loved ones. Some of the highly recommended methods by these “experts” to attract the spirits are:
Warning: Please do not attempt to contact the spirits through these practices as you might be putting your life in danger. These Spirits can and will harass and mislead people, and getting rid of them is extremely difficult.

Popular Methods Used To Contact The Dead
Spirits can speak directly into your mind. Spirits often tell people to let go of inhibitions, open their minds up, and start thinking about the dead person.
- Talk to them
The mediums claim that the spirit feels more confident to talk to when they hear us speak to them.
- Sense their presence
Look out for signs such as pressure or temperature changes, unexpected and unexplained phenomena such as random falling objects, or random noises.
- Through dreams
If you are a lucid dreamer, then inviting deceased loved ones in your dream after you have slept allows them to reach out to you.
- Occultic rituals
One of the sure-shot ways of attracting spirits is indulging in ritualistic practices such as a seance in which people use their “collective energy” to hear and talk to the dead. Occultic objects such as ouija boards, altars, talismans, charms, spells, etc., are an open invitation to contact the dead.
Spirits Of The Dead?
In the article, What happens when we die ?, we have demonstrated that the Bible unequivocally teaches that a dead person can no longer communicate with our world. The Bible compares death to sleep because the soul of the deceased is asleep in the grave. His spirit doesn’t linger around to haunt people, nor does his soul go to Heaven or Hell.
Many Christians misunderstand Jesus’s teachings on the subject. If you think that the souls of Lazarus and the Thief went to Paradise, and that of the rich man suffers in Hell, then you need to read the article: Did Jesus Teach That We Have An Immortal Soul?
According to God, the dead cannot hear us when we talk to them because they are no longer conscious. They no longer possess the capability to interact with us from beyond the grave.
Many people have testified in great detail regarding visitations from dead people, seeing apparitions, hearing voices, haunted homes, etc. Also, mediums and necromancers make a lot of money by conjuring up the dead.
So we cannot deny that people are seeing and hearing spirits who look like dead people. Therefore many of these supernatural manifestations are real, and without a doubt, people are speaking to spirits. The question is, which spirits?
Demons In Disguise
Since the spirits cannot be the souls of the dead, then who are these supernatural entities posing as dead people. What possible gain could any being have by pretending to speak and look just like the deceased? And how are they able to retell incidents and memories of a personal nature which only the dead would know?
Revelation 16:14 tells us that evil spirits can perform miracles. It turns out that one of the mind-bending wonders that these demons can perform is impersonating the dead. If you think this is an impossible feat for these satanic minions, then think again. These diabolical devils are fallen angels and still retain a lot of their supernatural powers.
These dark angels can transform into angels of light. In other words, if impersonating the Good Angels of Heaven is possible for demons, then masquerading as dead people should be a piece of cake for them.
Spiritualism is one of the biggest deceptions through which Satan has managed to entice the world. The cunning devil has manufactured a convoluted fraud of epic proportions and has single-handedly misled billions into believing that dead people continue to exist consciously and can interact with our world.
Satan is the embodiment of lies and deception. It is no wonder that Jesus labeled him the father of lies in John 8:44. It is fascinating to know that the first lie that the “serpent of old” told Eve in the Garden of Eden was a precursor to Spiritualism when he declared in Genesis 3:4: “you shall not surely die”. Satan successfully deceived our first parents into sin by guaranteeing that they would not die, implying that humans possess natural immortality. Since then, this wily foe has continued to use the same tried and tested formula to seduce humanity.
Do you know why Satan always uses the same lies? Because it never gets old as humans still fall for it!
The Battle For Your Mind
A cosmic battle is underway between God and Satan, and you guessed it right, it is for your mind and soul. This battle started in the garden of Eden and will finish with the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. On one hand, God is working towards your salvation while Satan is distracting and poisoning the mind away towards destruction.
Those who engage in communication with the dead are breaking two Golden Rules that God has provided for everyone’s safety, regardless of their religious beliefs.
Rule 1: God has given each one of us free will and conscience to decide and make our own choices. Demons are not allowed to overrule our free will.
Rule 2: Contacting the dead or engaging in Spiritualism is forbidden by God.
The first rule ensures that demons cannot force us to engage directly with them. The second rule is to safeguard us from directly talking to demons.
God has not allowed demons to directly force themselves into our lives because of our free will. Hence Satan has been finding ways to circumvent these rules and lure us into his trap. The devil and his demonic stooges are master psychologists having studied the human mind for nearly 6000 years. They know that we are naturally inclined to maintain strong relationships with our loved ones. Therefore it’s a no-brainer for Satan to entice the masses into contacting “the dead” using Spiritualism.
The demons want you to think that the dead can hear us when we talk to them. And why not, they have been highly successful in fooling the world.
Demons know that some will be attracted to the possibility of communicating with their dead loved ones while others with the thrill of gaining secret mystical knowledge. They have dedicated a lot of time and effort to create this subterfuge which is accurately described in Thessalonians 2:9 as: “working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders.”
It is crucial to understand that by going against God’s rules created for our protection, you are giving an open invitation to the demons to gain access to your mind. It doesn’t matter if you are unaware that demons are impersonating the deceased. Satan can and will use all kinds of shady and alluring methods to gain access to you.
It is also not a mere coincidence that all popular ways of communicating with the dead involve your mind and free will. Because demons cannot bypass free will, they need you to grant them access. It doesn’t matter how they come into your life; all they need is your permission. They will lie and play with your emotions so they can gain entry into your life and body.
Satan will always get you to break both of these golden rules to entice you into spiritualism. He used similar tactics against Eve when he convinced her to sin.
The devil bewitched Eve into spiritualism!
How did Satan manage to hoodwink Eve into breaking the rules
Rule 1 – Genesis 3:1-2
- Satan was not allowed to force himself into Eve’s life.
- Satan was not allowed to bypass Eve’s will.
This is the reason why the devil had to wait and hope that Eve would come to him. He was allowed access to her only if Eve came of her own free will to the forbidden enchanted ground at the tree of Good and Evil.
Rule 2 – Genesis 3:4-5
- Satan used the snake as a medium and possessed its body, similar to how mediums allow demons to possess their bodies, i.e., Satan hid his true form and pretended to be something else. This is exactly what he does with necromancy.
- Satan made Eve doubt God’s word and told her that she would not really die. Thus laying the foundation of Spiritualism. The teachings of soul immortality, the afterlife, and necromancy are based on Satan’s lie in Eden.
Unfortunately, Eve trusted Satan’s word over God’s and believed that she would not die and remain immortal like God. Satan was elated at the fall of our first parents and realized that it was easy to dupe humans into thinking that we naturally possess an immortal soul. He also decided to propagate the lies of hearing and talking to the dead to deceive their progeny.
As our planet approaches its expiry date (AKA – the end times), Satan will increasingly rely on necromancy, the occult, and Spiritualism to trap the whole world. People will buy into this deception hook, line, and sinker as prophecied in 2 Corinthians 4:4: “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not”.
God Forbids Contacting The Dead.
Millions of people are venturing on dangerous ground by contacting the departed. They are led to believe that the dead can hear us when we talk to them, and in doing so, they are allowing evil spirits to ruin their lives.
God has given a stern warning to us in His Word that we are not to contact the dead.
The Bible warns us that familiar spirits (demons) possess mediums and witches. These necromancers have granted permission to demonic spirits to take over their bodies and have developed relationships with them; in other words, these spirits have become “familiar.”
God abhors necromancy and witchcraft so much that He ordered such people to be killed.
God wants us to understand that necromancy is of a hellish origin. These spirits cannot be Godly spirits because God has forbidden them. The witches and those who practice the occult and black magic worship demons and get their power from them. So the entities that they conjure up are through Satan's power.
From the Bible, we know that demons do not possess the capability to resurrect the dead as only God can raise them. To fool people into thinking that dead people remain conscious, these demons decided to deceive the world by impersonating the dead.
God knows these demonic tactics that's why He forewarned us to keep away from them or risk being deceived, possessed, and destroyed by these evil entities.
Demons can fabricate lies and make things to appear genuine and rational. It is easy for them to pull the wool over your eyes. Therefore don't venture into enchanted grounds, or you might end up paying a hefty price! And remember that the dead can neither hear nor talk to you.
